Sourcing

Provider facts come from provider websites and rate cards first, then from dated, named secondary sources (industry publications, FCC and state regulators, ACSI and J.D. Power studies, Better Business Bureau profiles). Every fact sheet lists its sources with the date observed. We do not use anonymous forum posts as sources of fact.

Dating

Prices and terms change weekly in these industries, so every page shows the date its facts were verified. Where sources disagree, we say so rather than picking the more flattering number.

No fabricated reviews or testimonials

We do not publish customer reviews, testimonials, or star ratings that we did not collect ourselves, and we do not generate them. Satisfaction data on this site comes from named independent studies. This complies with the FTC's rule on consumer reviews and testimonials (16 CFR Part 465).

Use of software and automation

Our scoring engine computes rankings from the fact sheets mechanically so that the method on the methodology page is the method actually used. Drafting tools, including AI assistance, may be used to structure articles; every published fact is traceable to a source in the fact sheet, and a person is accountable for every page.

Independence

Providers do not review or approve content before publication. Commission relationships are disclosed and excluded from scoring. See how we make money.

We correct errors promptly and note material corrections on the affected page. Send corrections to hello@decidehome.com with the page URL and a source.
