Best Fiber Internet Providers of 2026

Fiber providers ranked on price per 100 Mbps, top tier, fees, contracts and 2026 ACSI satisfaction. Includes AT&T Fiber, Frontier, Verizon Fios, Brightspeed, Quantum Fiber, Optimum Fiber and Kinetic.

Updated October 30, 20267 providers scoredHow we scored

Fiber is the only home internet technology where the cheapest plan is usually also a good plan. Entry tiers start at 200–300 Mbps symmetrical, equipment is included at most providers, and data caps simply do not exist. The differences that matter are price after the promo, whether the router is Wi-Fi 6E/7, and how the company treats you when something breaks — which is where the ACSI numbers earn their 20% weight.

The catch is reach. Even the biggest fiber networks pass a minority of US homes, so this list is only a starting point until you run the address checks.

What separates the fiber providers

AT&T Fiber and Quantum Fiber sell flat prices with no promo cliff; Frontier, Brightspeed and Kinetic lead with aggressive first-year prices that step up. Verizon Fios answers with 3- to 5-year price guarantees. Optimum Fiber posts the lowest promo price in our set but its official rate card shows a $6/mo network enhancement fee, a $14/mo gateway and a standard price more than double the promo.

Speed tiers you actually need

For a typical household, 300–500 Mbps symmetrical is more than enough; 1 Gig buys headroom for large uploads and many simultaneous 4K streams; 2–8 Gig tiers are for enthusiasts and home labs, and a single device usually cannot use them. Our speed criterion is log-scaled for exactly this reason.

Frequently asked questions

Is fiber more reliable than cable?

Generally yes: fiber is less affected by neighborhood congestion and weather, and upload speeds match download speeds. Reliability still depends on the specific provider's network operations, which is why satisfaction data is part of the score.

Do fiber plans have data caps?

None of the fiber plans we reviewed impose data caps.

Why isn't Google Fiber listed?

Google Fiber serves a small number of metros and does not participate in affiliate programs; we plan to add it to the editorial comparison once we complete pricing verification.
